About CottonField
Integrity Woven Into Everything We Do
Our customers are always telling us they feel uplifted when putting on our comfortable, natural clothing. Theres a good reason for their response. It began with the inspiration to live an organic lifestyle and the search for high-energy organic cotton clothing that is good for our bodies, spirits, community, and the earth. As pure and simple as our intention to make you feel happy about the clothes you wear.
We believe that sooner, or later, everyone reaches a point in life where they recognize their innate need for balance and meaning. Four years ago Yeumei Shon had the idea of incorporating her unique fashion design skills into a business that would feed her soul-- and play a role in contributing to a healthy planet. Yeumei successfully blends smart, everyday design styles with organic cotton fabric. And today people all over the world are enjoying Cottonfields Comfort In Style as a result.
Our Field of Vision
Cottonfield envisions a world where continuous education and growth are valued and honored,
responsible environmental action is pursued, and our contributions build a strong, healthy global community.
When you buy organic cotton products, you are contributing to a stable, green planet. Because of its purity, organic cotton fabric is softer, hypoallergenic, comfortable, breathable, warming or cooling to the human body, and perspiration resistant. Many of our clients say organic cotton possesses a certain uplifting energy.
Since we've been working with pure cotton fabrics, it has strengthened our conviction that going organic leads to a lifestyle of health and sustainability. A belief that what we do to the environment returns to us - just as how we treat others returns to us in like behavior. This is our business philosophy.
Threads of Meaning
Every year, according to the USDA, conventional farmers apply some 53 million pounds of toxic pesticides to U.S. conventional cotton fields. Though their costs can be slightly higher, organic farmers are demonstrating better ways to grow cotton. To learn more, please see Why Organic.

About Our Fabric
- 100% ORGANICALLY GROWN COTTON
- NO PESTICIDES
- COLORGROWN OR ECO-DYED
- FREE OF CHEMICALS
What is organic cotton? Very simply, true organic cotton is grown without the use of pesticides. It is also free of toxic agricultural chemicals like chlorine and formaldehyde. These chemicals are used to whiten, finish, and prepare non-organic cotton fabric to accept dyes, resist fire, and minimize wrinkles and shrinkage. Our color-grown organic cotton grows in lovely shades of brown, sage, and cream. These colors occur naturally in the cotton ball and look fabulous without dyes. When we choose to add eco-friendly dyes, we are able to create a rich palette of hues that complement any fashion taste and season.
Because color-grown organic cotton is cultivated on small farms and subject to natures whims, availability is limited. Unlike commercial cotton, it is not treated with insecticides or chemicals. We are usually the sole user of goods made from the cotton these small farms produce. This makes Cottonfield apparel exclusive, not only for its styling, but also for the unique fabrics that are used. Our customers tell us our clothing emits a special, positive energy.
About Our ECO-DYED Fabrics
All our black, plum and cranberry garments have been eco-friendly dyed. Since garment-dyeing is a unique process, in rare instances, there may be slight variation across dye lots. Please be aware of this when matching sets.
Fabric Care Tips
Wash organically grown cotton clothing as you would normal cotton apparel but take care not to over dry. A bit of tender loving care will extend its wearing life. And, unlike chemically processed cotton, the color of our buffalo and sage color-grown organic cotton deepens during the first three washings. Then it stabilizes to a natural shade. For best results, wash dyed garments in cold water. For sage rib knit only, avoid direct light while drying to avoid fading.
For our organic sherpa, which was brushed after knitting to give it its characteristic fluffiness, pilling may occur when washing. For best results, hand or machine wash gentle cycle using a mild detergent such as Woolite© and tumble dry low, removing promptly.
